    Are you online with this computer? Go to this link, and download this free, tiny little program. GPU-Z. It will tell you if you have a PCI-Express x16 slot. (It’ll tell you if you have more than one, also.)http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
    Scroll down to the screenshot. See down on the right where it indicates this computer has a PCI-Express x16 slot? (In the box to the right of->Bus Interface. PCI-E x16@x16. This means PCI-Express x16 working at 16 Lanes. It is operating at 16 lanes. Some PCI-Express x16 slots only operate at x8. {Things they don’t tell you!}
    Download page: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/Sys… (Just click on the Blue-> TechpowerUp GPU-Z v0.2.7)
    Now it Doesn’t tell you whether your motherboard supports,(Uses),
    PCI-Express 1.1 version, or the newer PCI-Express 2.0 version.
    The Nvidia GeForce 8800GT is a PCI-Express 2.0 version graphics card. (No matter who makes it, the GPU is still the same old Nvidia one!)
    PCI-Express 2.0 is backward compatible. This means a PCI-E 2.0 card will work in a PCI-E 1.1 version slot. Performance will be reduced.
    Will you notice this? Probably not! (Really!)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

    That depends. What kind of PC you have? What is the bus type of your GPU? What is the bus type supported on your motherboard? I think if you have a PCI-Express x16 2.0 on your motherboard, then I think you will be ok.

  • IceColdK says:

    Google your motherboard model and see if it is PCI-E x16 compatible, as that is slot for the video card.

    an your motherboard is ? wat brand computer do u have ? i need to know at leas something about it to say if its compatible.

  • Jake says:

    Google your mobo’s chipset, and find out what GPUs it will accept.
